All About JAM...

Creative Crafter to Creative Teacher to Creative Crafter again...Life is GOOD!

My story headline above says it all...

CREATIVE CRAFTER:

My journey started in the 1970s back in West Virginia where I opened JAM's Hobby Shop in my home.  We enclosed our large front porch to provide my display room of crafts to be sold and my office.  One living room became the supply room where I sold painting books, paints, brushes, wood cutouts, and anything else needed to complete a project.  My dining room became the classroom for teaching painting classes.  The basement was the workshop.  All of the tools needed to make the wood cutouts for painting, selling, and classes.  I had the PERFECT set up here.  I could open my store, when I got home from work and still help with homework and cook dinner while waiting on my customers to arrive.

CREATIVE TEACHER:

Once I moved to Florida, I went back to college.  I graduated in 1993 from the University of Central Florida with my teaching degree.  I used my creative juices to make fun and engaging lesson plans for my students.  This was such a rewarding time for me.  I did miss using my crafty creative side.  I would go to craft shows to peddle my ware, but did not find this experience as appealing as having my own store.  I poured my creativity into my students lessons until I retired in 2015.

CREATIVE CRAFTER:

After retirement and having the cleanest and decluttered house on the block, I didn't know what to do with myself.  At that time, I found Etsy...and what a find it was!  I was now back in the crafting business.  Not only did I have handcrafted items, but added my second passion of vintage and antique items.  Etsy kept me busy and out of trouble.  Life was good and satisfying.  Etsy began making so many changes that affected my shop...JAMsCraftCloset.  I felt I might need a backup plan.  My Plan B was Shopify.  I am very excited about opening my new store on Shopify.  I know I will need to work harder to get my store known.  I was never afraid of hard work to reach my goal...so here goes my attempt of success on Shopify.  Wish me luck and please...should you find my shop, share it with your friends, family, enemies, and your social media outlets.  I will need all the help I can get to be known on Shopify. Your help will be so appreciated...Thanking you in advance!!!
